Hospices of Hope Moldova, a non-governmental organization dedicated to palliative care, provides essential support to individuals with incurable diseases and their families in five regions of the Republic of Moldova: Orhei, Soroca, Taraclia, Ocnița, and most recently Chișinău. By engaging in the #HopeInMotion campaign, you will help these patients to receive quality care at the Hospices of Hope Moldova day centers or at home.

From June 27th to July 1st, 2023, Hospices of Hope Moldova organized the eighth edition of the Hospice Bike Tour, a charitable cycling event that brought together enthusiastic cyclists and compassionate individuals from various countries. The aim of this event was to support individuals in the final stages of their lives and raise funds for the palliative care services offered by Hospices of Hope Moldova.

The event kicked off with an opening ceremony in front of the OTP Bank in Chișinău, the main partner of the event. After this, participants embarked on a memorable journey covering a route of over 800 kilometers. Destinations included impressive destinations such as Iași, Bicaz, Viscri, Sinaia, and Bucharest. With determination and passion, cyclists set out to raise 500 euros each through donations, to support incurable patients from different regions of the Republic of Moldova, and to contribute to the development of the free palliative care services provided by Hospices of Hope Moldova.

A two-day Pediatric Palliative Care course was recently conducted in Chișinău, with the participation of 29 healthcare professionals from the Hospices of Hope teams in Taraclia, Soroca, Orhei, Ocnița, and Chișinău. The course aimed to enhance the understanding of Pediatric Palliative Care concepts, phased symptom and pain management approaches, teamwork and patient-family communication, as well as the importance of self-care in palliative care.

Experienced and internationally recognized trainers in the field of pediatric palliative care, Julia Downing and Emily Harrop, were responsible for conducting the course. Julia Downing, the Executive Director of the International Children’s Palliative Care Network (ICPCN), holds extensive experience in healthcare and research. Emily Harrop, a consultant pediatrician and scientific researcher, has authored over 35 publications on care for infants, children, and young individuals with life-limiting conditions.

Chișinău, May 25, 2023 - Today, Hospices of Hope Moldova inaugurated the "Centrul Speranței Chișinău" day center, marking a pivotal moment in enhancing the quality of life for patients suffering from life-limiting diseases. The center aims to alleviate their physical pain, as well as improve their psycho-emotional well-being. The inauguration event took place at the newly opened day center on Iurii Gagarin Street 10, in Chișinău.

The opening of "Centrul Speranței," developed by the British organization Hospices of Hope Moldova, was attended by the Founder and CEO of the UK organization, Graham Perrols, and Anna Perrols, the Minister of Health, Ala Nemerenco, the Ambassador of the UK, H.E. Steven Fisher, and the Ombudsman, Ceslav Panico.
