As Japan prepares to host the world’s finest athletes in the delayed 2020 Olympics, there is an opportunity to get into the Olympic spirit here in Chisinau!
All diplomatic missions (Embassies, Consulates, International Organizations) in Moldova are invited to race in the name of charity on July 18 at 9:00 at Dinamo Stadium. The event, organized in partnership with the British Embassy in Chisinau, will bring together professional runners/Olympic athletes and amateurs, in support of palliative care in Moldova.
The activity consists of a relay race between teams of 5 runners. Each Embassy or organization will contribute four people to the team (staff members or friends of the organization) and the teams will each be completed by the addition of a Moldovan Olympic athlete. The five-person team will run a 5 x 400m relay, with each team member carrying a baton and passing it on to the next team member. After the race, each team will delegate a single representative to challenge one of the Olympic athletes [Olesea Cojuhari – Moldovan Olympic 400m runner in the London 2012 Olympics and Iaroslav Musinschi – Moldovan marathon runner in the London Olympics 2012, Beijing 2008, Sydney 2000] for a final race over 400m.
As this is a Charity Relay Race, we are happy to collect funds for terminally ill children and adults, patients of Hospices of Hope Moldova Network.
