Today marked the beginning of a new edition of Hospice Bike Tour 2026, a charity event that transforms every kilometer into a gesture of solidarity for people who need palliative care.

In the morning, in Chișinău, the participants gathered full of emotion and determination, ready to set off on a route of approximately 450 km that will pass through several regions of the Republic of Moldova, cycling along the route: Chișinău - Orhei - Soroca - Bălți - Chișinău.

The atmosphere in the starting area was a special one — a mixture of sporting energy, personal emotion, and responsibility towards the common cause.

From the central headquarters of OTP Bank in Chișinău, the main partner of the event, 15 amateur but brave cyclists set off on the road — towards Orhei.

The road passed through spring landscapes, quiet villages, and authentic rural areas, where every pedal stroke was a moment of reflection on the purpose of this event. Although the first day is often the fullest of enthusiasm, it is also the moment when the participants set their rhythm for the days to come.

Along the route, regular stops took place for hydration and support, and the team spirit was felt from the very first hours — the cyclists encouraging each other and maintaining a common pace.

During the first day of Hospice Bike Tour 2026, we had the opportunity to have lunch at Eco Resort Butuceni, who decided to support us in this charity ride.

The participants enjoyed a truly delicious and authentic lunch, in a warm and welcoming atmosphere. Thank you very much to the Eco Resort Butuceni team for the support, hospitality, and care offered to our participants! At the same time, we had the joy of meeting Violeta Botnaru, who offered us a special artistic moment and performed a song as a sign of appreciation for the Hospice Bike Tour participants.

In the evening, the participants were welcomed at the “Wings of Hope” Day Centre in Orhei, supported by Hospices of Hope Moldova, where we were welcomed with a lot of warmth, care, and soul.

In spite of the hilly roads, nothing stopped our cyclists on their way. Their desire to help people who need their support was stronger than any obstacle.

Besides the physical challenge of covering such a long distance in a limited time, each participant also aims to raise 500 EUR for incurably ill patients from various regions of the Republic of Moldova.
